Here are Europe’s five largest solar energy construction projects that were initiated in Q3 2021, according to GlobalData’s construction projects database.

1. Sabinar Photovoltaic Complex 252 MW – $213m

The project involves the construction of the 252MW Sabinar photovoltaic complex on a 452ha area in Castile-La Mancha, Spain.

Construction work started in Q3 2021 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2022.

The project aims to enable the region to meet its growing electricity demand.

Construction work commenced in Q3 2021 and is expected to finish in Q4 2022.

The project will generate enough energy to power over 40,000 homes. It is intended to help  Ireland meet its ambitious climate action target of 70% renewables by 2030 and is also set to be one of Ireland’s first operational solar farms.

3. Cadiz Photovoltaic Solar Complex 233.6 MW – $134m

The project involves the construction of a photovoltaic solar complex between the municipalities of Jerez de la Frontera and San José del Valle, in the province of Cádiz, Andalusia, Spain.

The project involves the construction of a 180MW solar power plant in Devnya, Varna Province, Bulgaria.

5. Ptolemaida Solar PV Park 200 MW – $129m

The project involves the construction of a 200MW solar farm in Ptolemaida, West Macedonia, Greece.

Construction work started in Q3 2021 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2022.
