The project was developed by Southern Power Generation Sdn. Tenaga Nasional and SIPP Energy Sdn are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 51% and 49% respectively.
It is a combined cycle gas turbine (ccgt) power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Distillate Fuel Oil.
The project cost is $1,132.1m.
