The project is being developed and currently owned by Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority.
Upper Palas Valley is a reservoir based project. The gross head and net head of the project will be 470m and 423m respectively. The project is expected to generate 475 GWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $425m.
The hydro power project consists of 2 units of pelton turbines.
