Description

The project was developed by Hindustan Construction and is currently owned by NHPC with a stake of 100%.

Uri Phase II is a run-of-river project. The gross head and net head of the project are 130m and 118m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 2 in number. The penstock diameter is 5m. The project generated 1,123 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $441.17m.

Power Purchase Agreement

Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam are the power offtakers from the project.

Contractors Involved

GE Power India was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 4 units of francis turbines, each with 60MW nameplate capacity.

GE Power India supplied 4 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 67 MVA.
