Vilanculo – Maputo Line is a 400kV overhead line with a length of 563km from Vilanculo, Inhambane, Mozambique, to Maputo, Maputo, Mozambique.
The project, which is currently under construction, is expected to be commissioned in 2022.
Vilanculo – Maputo Line is an overhead line that will be operated by Electricidade de Mocambique EP. The line will carry alternating current (AC) through double circuit cable.
Approximately $560m was financed by the authorities to undertake the construction works of the project.
The development of the Vilanculo – Maputo Line project has been approved by the Energy Regulatory Authority (ARENE).
