Vilanculos – Chibuto Line is a 400kV overhead line with a length of 340km from Vilanculos, Inhambane, Mozambique, to Chibuto, Gaza, Mozambique.

The project, which is currently in the planning stage, is expected to be commissioned in 2022.

Description

Vilanculos – Chibuto Line is an overhead line that will be operated by Electricidade de Mocambique EP. The line will carry alternating current (AC) through single circuit cable.

Approximately $44.6m was financed by the authorities to undertake the construction works of the project.

It produces electricity from hydro and thermal sources.
