The project is currently owned by Enel Green Power Brasil Participacoes with a stake of 100%.
Volta Grande is a run-of-river project. Volta Grande underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2013-2017. The project generated 2,020 GWh of electricity.
The project has 4 electric generators installed at the site. The generator capacity is 100 MVA.

Contractors Involved
Voith Hydro Holding was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 4 units of kaplan turbines, each with 95MW nameplate capacity.
