The project is currently owned by Enel Green Power Brasil Participacoes with a stake of 100%.

Volta Grande is a run-of-river project. Volta Grande underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2013-2017. The project generated 2,020 GWh of electricity.

The project has 4 electric generators installed at the site. The generator capacity is 100 MVA.
