Waco Kungo – Belem Do Huambo Line is a 400kV overhead line with a length of 174km from Waco Kungo, Cuanza Sul, Angola, to Belem Do Huambo, Huambo, Angola.

The project, which is currently under construction, is expected to be commissioned in 2021.


Waco Kungo – Belem Do Huambo Line is an overhead line that will be operated by Rede Nacional de Transporte de Electricidade. The line will carry alternating current (AC) through single circuit cable.

Approximately $135.7m was financed by the authorities to undertake the construction works of the project.

The development of the Waco Kungo – Belem Do Huambo Line project has been approved by the Institute for Electricity Regulation.
