Yatsushiro Biomass Power Project is a 75MW biopower project. It is planned in Kumamoto, Japan. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in single phase. The project construction is likely to commence in 2022 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in June 2024.

The project is being developed by Chubu Electric Power, Ene – Vision.co.,ltd and Toho Gas. These companies also have ownership stakes in the project.
The project cost is expected to be around $313.19m.
Wood by-product will be used as a feedstock to power the project.
The project construction is expected to commence from 2022. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by June 2024.
IHI is expected to perform operations and maintenance for the project for a period of 20 years.
