Starwood Energy Group Global has agreed to acquire four coal fired power plants in the US with a combined installed capacity of 1.2GW.

Starwood Energy Group Global has agreed to acquire four coal fired power plants in the US with a combined installed capacity of 1.2GW.

The company received financing for the acquisition from Ares EIF Management, an infrastructure investment company.

Based in the US, Starwood Energy Group Global is a private investment business.

Ningxia Jiaze Renewables Corporation has agreed to invest CNY700m ($106.08m) for the construction and development of the 100MW Jiaojiapu windpower project in Ningxia, China.

Ningxia Jiaze Renewables is a renewable energy company.

Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution (MSEDCL) has agreed to raise gross proceeds of Rs16bn ($247.62m) by issuing bonds in a public offering.

The company proposes to issue bonds under the Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojana (UDAY) programme.

“TerraForm Power Operating plans to raise gross proceeds of $500m in a private placement of 4.25% senior notes due 2023.”

Based in India, MSEDCL is a power distribution company and a subsidiary of M.S.E.B. Holding. It intends to use the proceeds raised to clear debts.

Andalas Energy and Power has agreed to raise £0.5m ($0.67m) in gross proceeds by issuing 1,277,139,208 new ordinary shares, priced at £0.003915 ($0.0052) a share, in a private placement.

Based in the UK, Andalas Energy is a power generation company that intends to use the proceeds to advance its current projects.

The placement was led by 1798 Volantis Fund, which subscribed for 1,277,139,208 shares to gain 21.33% control of Andalas Energy’s enlarged share capital.

TerraForm Power Operating plans to raise gross proceeds of $500m in a private placement of 4.25% senior notes due 2023.

To be subscribed to by qualified institutional buyers in the US, the notes are proposed to be issued at an initial offering price of 100% of the principal amount.

In addition, the company also plans to raise $700m by placing 5% senior notes due 2028.

The company intends to use the proceeds raised to redeem $950m senior notes due in 2023 and to clear outstanding debts.
