US-based renewable energy developer Exus Renewables North America has acquired four solar projects with a combined capacity of 715MW-peak (MWp) from ibV Energy Partners.
The transaction covers projects in Wisconsin and Louisiana and is expected to nearly double Exus’ operational portfolio in the US, reported Reuters.

The projects involved in the sale are Maple Grove Solar 1 and 2, a two-phase project totalling 310MWp in Barron County, Wisconsin.
In Louisiana, the 125MWp Bayou Teche Solar project is situated in St. Mary Parish, while Bayou Chicot Solar, with a capacity of 280MWp, is located in Evangeline Parish.
The total combined capacity represents enough electricity to supply more than 500,000 homes.
Exus plans to construct and operate the solar plants and will advance the developments through their next stages in both states.
The company has noted that the selected project locations are in regions facing swift demand growth, particularly due to the expansion of data centres and increased electrification.
This trend has placed premiums on power sources that can be brought online rapidly.
Exus Renewables North America president and CEO Jim Spencer said: “The acquisition of these projects represents an important step in the continued growth of our development portfolio and reinforces our strategy of building a geographically and technologically diverse portfolio across the US.
“These projects are particularly attractive because of their potential to interconnect quickly in markets where demand growth is outpacing available generation.”
ibV Energy Partners CEO Chris McKissack said: “We are proud to sell these projects to a renewable project development leader like Exus Renewables North America, known for their responsible and effective ownership in the communities where they operate.”
The acquisition comes at a time when US electricity demand has reached record levels, driven by rapid data centre growth and wider electrification.
Both Wisconsin and Louisiana are experiencing increased activity in data centre development, adding pressure on local utilities and grid operators.
Spencer also confirmed that Exus is in discussions with potential data-centre customers interested in purchasing electricity from the newly acquired solar sites.
In July 2026, Exus Renewables North America secured around $356m in construction financing for two wind energy projects in Pennsylvania, US.
