A consortium of India’s Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and South Korea’s Samsung C&T has secured a deal from Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) to develop the 400MW Bibiyana South combined-cycle power plant.

The $250m engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract will be implemented by L&T.

To be situated in Bangladesh, the plant will feature a Siemens’ single shaft advanced class gas turbine and a steam turbine and generator, which will be procured by L&T.

“The L&T and Sargent & Lundy joint venture (JV) will use its propriety technology to perform integration and detail engineering.”
