For this project, Fred Olsen Windcarrier will be using Tern-class vessels for the project and has selected the Port of Invergordon as the pre-assembly harbour.

Turbine installation is scheduled to start in 2021.

Fred Olsen Windcarrier CCO Casper Toft said: “We have been working with MHI Vestas Offshore Wind on various offshore wind projects over the last years and during 2018, we installed more than 100 V164 turbines in the North Sea.

“However, the Moray East contract award is the first installation contract where Fred Olsen Windcarrier is contracted directly by MHI Vestas Offshore Wind. We look forward to delivering our precise marine operations in Scotland in 2021 supporting MHI Vestas Offshore Wind on this large project.”
