Spanish energy company Acciona has completed the construction of the 56.1MW Tuppadahalli wind farm in Karnataka, India.

The wind farm has been built at an estimated cost of €58m.

It is equipped with 34 1,650 kW wind turbines and is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 129,000t.

State-owned power utility Mescom will purchase the electricity generated from the project, which is enough to power around 35,000 homes.

Acciona has incorporated the project into the clean development mechanism system outlined in the Kyoto protocol.
