Spanish manufacturing company Gamesa has signed a new agreement with Vapat Group to provide operations and maintenance services covering a total capacity of 216MW of wind power plants for seven years.

The agreement marks the renewal of a previous contract, which included the operation and maintenance of Vapat Group’s G90-2.0MW wind turbines.

These turbines are deployed at a wide range of farms across Castile and León, an autonomous community in northwestern Spain.

Gamesa has been responsible for servicing these turbines since they were commissioned in 2010.

Currently, the company provides services to more than 400 customers, maintaining around 8,100MW in Spain and more than 22,300MW across 35 other countries.

Headed by businessman Rafael González-Vallinas Delgado, the Vapat Group currently operates 472 MW capacity in Spain.

Earlier this month, Gamesa won an order from Spanish company Elecnor to supply an addition of seven new G97-2.0 MW wind turbines to expand the generating capacity of the Maan windfarm in the south of Jordan, in the Middle East.
