GE will supply its 109FA combined-cycle equipment for the expansion of the Nizhnevartovsk State Regional power plant in Russia.

The equipment includes a Frame 9FA Gas Turbine, a 109D-12 Steam Turbine and associated generators. It has been shipped to the project site and installation has already started.

GE will also provide maintenance and support services for 12 years under the agreement.

The facility will operate on natural gas generated by a gas processing plant and the expansion will add 400MW of output for the site.

Commercial operations of the new power project are expected to begin by December of 2012.
