Indian wind energy service provider Inox Wind has secured a repeat order from Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation’s (CESC) wholly-owned subsidiary Surya Vidyut for a 50MW wind power project at Rojmal, in the Indian state of Gujarat.
CESC is the first fully integrated power utility in India that is responsible for the generation and distribution of electricity.
Slated to be commissioned by December, the new wind power project will be carried out on a turnkey basis.
Inox Wind's site in Rojmal is one of the largest wind farms in Gujarat, with a power generation capacity of 400MW.
The company's CEO Kailash Tarachandani said: “The order has further boosted Inox’s strong order book with major corporate clients in India.
“An order from one of India’s leading power utilities proves the competitiveness of wind power in the state of Gujarat and ensures that Inox Wind continues to play a key role in further developing the wind energy industry in the state.”
The project's common power evacuation infrastructure facilities have already been commissioned.
Under the terms of the deal, Inox Wind will deliver end-to-end solutions from development and construction of the wind project to its commissioning.
After commissioning, the company will also have to provide operations and maintenance services to the plant for a multi-year period.
The scope of the order covers the delivery and deployment of 25 units of Inox Wind's advanced wind turbine generator.
