Mitsubishi, Venti-Japan, and C-Tech have partnered to develop a 66MW windpower generation project along the Akita City-Katagami City corridor of Akita Prefecture in Northern Japan.
The companies will join three-way joint venture (JV) Akita Katagami Windfarm to develop the project. Under the terms of the agreement, Venti-Japan will own a 51.0% stake, with Mitsubishi owning 43.9%, and C-Tech owning 5.1%.

Construction is scheduled to begin in September, built at an expected cost of approximately $180m.
It is estimated to generate 142,000MWh of power and have the capacity to supply electricity to about 40,000 families in Japan.
It will be one of Japan’s largest projects and will be able to supply electric utility Tohoku Electric Power from early 2019.
