Construction of the wind park will be carried out as an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) project by OX2, a company that develops, builds, finances, and manages renewable energy plants in the Nordic countries.
Empower PN is one of the contractors for the Lehtirova windpower facility and is responsible for foundation construction.
Peikko Group's chief executive officer Topi Paananen said: “We are excited to cooperate with Empower in this major wind park project.
“Previously, Peikko has delivered its foundation solution to OX2 windfarms in Finland where the foundations were also constructed by Empower, the Jouttikallio and Ajos windfarms.
“Continuing the cooperation now in the Swedish market is a significant step for Peikko’s wind turbine foundation technology.”
The entire range of foundations is expected to be ready by November this year. The facility will feature 41 units of Vestas’ type V126-3.6MW wind turbines, with hub heights of 121m.
The turbines will be mounted at the site around June 2018, while the wind park is expected to be operational by December of the same year.
