Solar PV manufacturer Trina Solar has signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the Administrative Committee of the Hefei Xinzhan General Pilot Zone to set up distributed generation (DG) solar power and related projects of up to 300MW capacity in Hefei, Anhui Province in eastern China.

Under the initial phase of the project, the partners will undertake a 30MW commercial rooftop development. Trina Solar will start construction on this project in the second quarter the year.

Once operational, the development will be one of the largest single-unit commercial rooftop projects in the Asian country.

Xinzhan General Pilot Zone is the chief solar photovoltaic (PV) industry development location in the Chinese city of Hefei. Through the collaboration, the authorities will assist Trina Solar to obtain support from the local government.
