Williams Plant wins support services contract for nuclear plant

Williams Plant Services has secured $27m support services contract from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to start-up the Watts Bar Unit 2 nuclear reactor in Tennessee, US.

Williams Plant Services has secured $27m support services contract from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to start-up the Watts Bar Unit 2 nuclear reactor in Tennessee, US.

Under the terms of the contract, Williams will be responsible for providing indirect support services to assist TVA in the final phase of the project.

Work on the reactor is scheduled to be complete in the third quarter of 2012 with commercial operations of the Unit 2 to begin during 2013.
