Germany-based Wirsol has sold 105MW solar projects in the UK to Rockfire Capital for an undisclosed sum.

The projects include 19 solar sites, which each range between 2.5MWp and 20.5MWp and have a total capacity of around 105MWp. The combined portfolio produces enough energy to generate around 100GWh of power annually.

The energy generated by the projects is reportedly sufficient to power nearly 30,000 households in the counrtry and is equivalent to saving almost 60t of carbon dioxide per year.

Renewable energy development and investment advisory entity Emel Solar helped Wirsol in marketing its portfolio and identifying the right financing partner.

"Wirsol Energy are already engaged in acquiring and building out significant solar pipelines in the UK and Australia."

Wirsol's managing director Mark Hogan said: “Wirsol Energy are already engaged in acquiring and building out significant solar pipelines in the UK and Australia and we hope to continue a positive and effective relationship with Emel and Rockfire accordingly.”

The conclusion of the latest deal has brought Rockfire's assets to 300MW of installed solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity across ground-mounted and rooftop installations.
