Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex Group has entered the Ukrainian market by securing a 133MW contract in the country.
The company is planning to install 34 turbines by the end of this year at the first phase of the ‘Syvash’ windfarm.

Nordex’s contract partner Powerchina will develop the windfarm for a local project company SyvashEnergoProm, which is a joint venture (JV) of Total Eren, a French-based renewable energy IPP and Norwegian project developer NBT.
Founded in 2004 in Oslo, Norway, NBT is a developer and operator of utility-scale windfarms in emerging markets.
Nordex CEO José Luis Blanco said: “This order marks the perfect entry into the Ukrainian market. We are looking forward to collaborating with such experienced partners, and are proud that our turbine technology is to be used in what will be the largest wind farm in Ukraine.”
Located on the north shore of Lake Syvash, the windfarm will have a generation capacity of 250MW. Completion is scheduled for 2020.

In December last year, Nordex secured a wind turbines contract from the joint venture partners Credit Suisse Energy Infrastructure Partners (CSEIP) and E.ON Climate & Renewables to supply wind turbines for the 475MW Nysäter project in Sweden.
Under the contract, Nordex Group will deliver 104 N149/4.0-4.5 turbines from its Delta4000 series and ten N131/3900 units, with a mixture of tower heights.
