China-based total energy solutions provider Trina Solar has launched its new TrinaPro smart PV solution at its global headquarters in Changzhou.

Designed for utility-scale ground-mounted PV systems, the new solution is the result of Trina’s full cooperation agreement with Huawei Technologies, Sungrow Power Supply, and its strategic cooperation agreement with Nclave Renewable, respectively.

It is the first smart PV solution with an optimised combination of the company’s solar modules, solar tracker systems or floating systems, and inverters.

The company noted that TrinaPro, which includes both ground-mounted and floating solutions, is characterised by premium components, optimised system integration and smart O&M interconnection.

“Although solar power is a junior participant in the energy industry, it is one of the major powers to drive the future development of the whole industry.”

TrinaPro’s ground-mounted solution features a solar tracker system, which will help improve energy gain by up to 30%, while the floating solution will cover several application scenarios such as reservoirs, lakes and beaches.

Trina Solar chairman and CEO Gao Jifan said: “Although solar power is a junior participant in the energy industry, it is one of the major powers to drive the future development of the whole industry.”

By integrating ‘Edge Computing’ algorithm, TrinaPro can improve system stability with higher power generation and lower balance of system (BOS) cost in order to reduce system levelised cost of electricity (LCOE).

Trina Solar VP and global sales president Yin Rongfang said: “By the optimised combination in terms of improving power generation, lowering system LCOE and integrating smart O&M systems, TrinaPro will help its clients to reach a higher return on investment.”

With the interconnection between the Edge Computing algorithm and a smart O&M system on a Cloud platform, TrinaPro is also authorised to analyse and process data from the Cloud, in order to optimise the system’s operational model and ensure that it runs smoothly and efficiently.
