Veolia has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Star Energy to advance geothermal energy for the UK’s net zero targets.
The two companies aim to support the UK’s net-zero objectives by harnessing geothermal energy as a renewable and low-carbon heat source.
The two companies will focus on replacing fossil fuel-based energy in district heating systems, commercial properties, hospitals and educational facilities.
By tapping into geothermal energy, both companies plan to provide a sustainable and reliable heating solution to help meet the country’s energy needs.
Veolia and Star Energy will collaborate on developing geothermal solutions through advanced modelling, seismic studies and directional drilling techniques.
These systems, based on tried-and-tested technologies, can integrate into existing heating infrastructure with minimal disruption.
