Vestas has secured an order from Actis’ Brazilian subsidiary Echoenergia for the development of two windfarms with a total capacity of 53MW.
Echoenergia is a global investor focusing on private equity, energy and real estate asset management.
The projects involve construction of the 22MW Boa Esperança I wind park and the 31MW Pedra do Reino IV facility in the region of Sobradinho. Brazil.
Under the deal, Vestas will supply 24 units of locally manufactured V110-2.0MW wind turbines.
The order also includes a ten-year active output management (AOM 5000) service contract.
Vestas Brazil and Southern Latin America (LATAM) managing director Rogerio Zampronha said: “These two contracts show our strengths within customised solutions for auction bids and highlight our ability to win new projects in an otherwise quiet Brazilian wind market.
“The two wind parks are the first time we partner with Echoenergia and we are convinced our solutions’ strong performance will be the foundation of a long-lasting collaboration.”
The new Vestas wind turbines are planned to be commissioned next year.
Vestas currently has more than 1.5GW windpower capacity either installed or under construction in Brazil.
