Continuum Wind Energy subsidiary Watsun Infra has awarded a 96MW wind turbine order for Phase II of the 150MW Periyapatti windfarm in Tamil Nadu, India.

As part of the project, the facility will feature 34 of Vestas’ V100-2.0MW wind turbines, and 14 V110-2.0MW units to optimise power generation.

Alongside supply and installation of the turbines, the order also includes a VestasOnline business supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) solution and a 15-year, full-scope Active Output Management (AOM 5000) service agreement.

Once operational, the windpower facility will generate an annual power production of approximately 203MWh, which would address the total electricity requirements of almost 2.4 million urban consumers in India every year.
