Envision Energy has partnered with Pulse Clean Energy to deliver a 129MW/310MW-hour (MWh) battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, UK.
The project was announced at the Intersolar Europe conference in Munich, Germany.
It represents a significant step in Envision's rollout of its Future Energy Systems strategy in the UK to support more adaptable and low-emission energy infrastructure.
Originally designed for a two-hour duration, Envision Energy reconfigured the system to provide 2.4 hours of storage.
This change demonstrates the technology’s ability to adapt to evolving grid demands.
The solution will feature Envision’s Gen 7 BESS platform, which includes advanced battery systems and grid-forming capabilities.
It is intended to enhance grid stability, improve system flexibility and accommodate growing electricity demand driven by electrification.

Supported by Envision’s local team with experience in grid integration and overall project management, the development is intended to address the changing requirements of the UK’s energy sector.
The project is expected to facilitate the integration of more renewable energy, enhance energy resilience in the region and contribute to the decarbonisation of sectors such as manufacturing and logistics.
The company also reported that independent third-party environmental, social and governance due diligence has been carried out for the project.

In November 2025, Envision Energy and GES formed a strategic partnership to scale BESS and wind power in Spain and across Europe, accelerating the region’s clean energy transition.
