Nextpower Arabia, a joint venture between Nextpower and Abunayyan Holding, is set to supply 2.25GW of solar tracking systems to Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for the Bisha Solar project in Saudi Arabia.

The ACWA Power-led consortium is developing the Bisha project in Asir Province, procured by the Saudi Power Procurement Company under Wave 6 of the National Renewable Energy Programme, managed by the Ministry of Energy.

This order marks Nextpower Arabia’s first major contract since becoming fully operational and is intended to contribute to the country’s efforts to expand utility-scale solar capacity and reduce carbon emissions.

L&T (Renewable International) general manager Bharathi Kumar said: “We have tremendous confidence in Nextpower Arabia to provide the most advanced utility-grade solar solutions that will help us deliver maximum performance and low-cost clean energy through the new Bisha Solar Plant long into the future.”

Nextpower Arabia will manage sales, manufacturing, delivery and supply chain operations locally to facilitate construction and operation of solar plants.

The company aims to assist with industrial growth and workforce development across the Middle East and North Africa region.

Abunayyan Holding CEO Turki Al-Amrisaid: “The Bisha project will significantly contribute to national and regional renewable energy transformation objectives.

“By manufacturing and producing Nextpower Arabia systems in the kingdom, we can deliver a wide range of benefits from our newly localised solar supply chain for our development partners while advancing Saudi’s national industrialisation strategy.”

In July 2025, Saudi Arabian state-owned power procurement company Principal Buyer entered agreements worth SR31bn ($8.3bn) with a consortium led by ACWA Power to develop seven new solar and wind power projects with a combined capacity of 15GW.
