The French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) has published the results of the latest onshore wind tender (the tenth round of the PPE2 Multi-annual Energy Programme), for a total capacity target of 925MW. More than 90 projects were submitted, with 42 selected, representing a total capacity of 952.8MW at an average price of €86.6 per megawatt-hour.

RWE has been awarded two wind projects with a combined capacity of 21.6MW: the Balinot project, located in the Oise department, and the Langonnet project in Morbihan. Each has an installed capacity of 10.8MW and consists of three wind turbines. 

The year 2025 has been a successful one for RWE in France, with more than 83MW of wind and solar projects commissioned in recent months. In addition, the group secured 82MW in the CRE’s 2024 onshore wind tenders and, with these two new projects, now has a total of 172.6MW of onshore wind capacity and 19.6 megawatts-alternating current of solar capacity awarded in the 2025 CRE tenders.

This performance positions RWE among the leading players in France’s energy transition. The company currently has a portfolio of approximately 1.6GW of onshore wind projects and one gigawatt-peak of solar projects at various stages of development in France, including 408MW awarded in CRE’s tenders, and has commissioned 275MW since entering the French market in 2020.
