GameChange Solar has signed a contract with CEEC-ZTPC to deliver its Genius Tracker 1P Single Row system for the Abydos solar PV plant - Phase II in Egypt.

The project, developed by AMEA Power and constructed by CEEC-ZTPC, will integrate a 1 gigawatt alternating current (GWac) solar photovoltaic (PV) plant with a 600 megawatt hours (MWh) battery energy storage system (BESS).

GameChange Solar's total capacity in Egypt is now close to 3GW.

GameChange Solar international president Vikas Bansal stated: "We're honoured to continue our partnership with CEEC-ZTPC and support AMEA Power in delivering another transformative energy project.

"Following the successful execution of Abydos I, a 560MW project that has now reached commercial operation, this significant order reflects the trust we've built through strong collaboration and reliable execution. We're proud to contribute our technology and expertise to a project that's shaping the future of energy in Africa."

One of the largest solar-plus-storage projects in Africa, Abydos-II is a major step towards Egypt's goal of 42% renewable energy generation by 2030.

The project is scheduled for commissioning in May 2026.

Spanning 20km² in Aswan Governorate, the facility is expected to produce 3,000GWh of electricity annually, which is sufficient to power more than 500,000 households and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 1 million tonnes annually.

GameChange Solar provides solar tracker solutions for utility-scale and ground-mounted distributed generation solar projects globally.

The company has delivered 43GW of solar trackers and fixed tilt systems. Its products allow solar panels to follow the sun's movement, optimising plant performance and protecting the array from adverse weather.

In June 2025, GameChange Solar announced the expansion of its manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia to 6GW annually.

This expansion will double its current capacity and will be completed by September 2025.

The facility will continue to manufacture GameChange Solar’s advanced Genius Tracker systems for utility-scale projects.
