SWREL secures EPC order for Adani Green’s Khavda solar projects in India

The contract includes materials and onsite services, with a total order value of $154.5m excluding taxes.

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy (SWREL) has secured the first purchase order from Adani Green Energy to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for a1GW solar development in the Indian state of Gujarat.

The order covers a balance of system package for three solar power projects at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park.

The contract includes the supply of materials and onsite services, with a total order value of Rs13,810m ($154.5m), excluding taxes.

SWREL has also signed a five-year strategic partnership framework agreement to support Adani Green Energy’s future renewable energy developments in the country.

It is now working on 6GW of projects in the Khavda, with 5GW scheduled for completion in the fiscal year 2025/26.

Speaking about the development, Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Group global CEO Chandra Kishore Thakur stated: “We are delighted to announce a strategic five-year partnership framework agreement with Adani Green, and also our largest domestic engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) order this fiscal [year].

“This partnership between India’s largest RE developer, and one of India’s biggest solar EPC players further strengthens our EPC leadership in the fast growing Indian solar market.

“This order is a testament to the trust our clients place in our engineering excellence, execution capabilities, and ability to deliver large GW projects with a fast turnaround. With this order win, SWREL has now achieved more than Rs64.5bn of order inflows this fiscal, and our pipeline continues to remain robust.”

SWREL offers EPC solutions for utility-scale floating solar, solar, hybrid and energy storage, as well as wind projects.

The company’s total portfolio is more than 24.4-gigawatts peak (GWp), including commissioned and under-construction projects.

Its operation and maintenance portfolio covers 9.1GWp of solar projects, including those built by other parties.
