Vestas has received an order from an undisclosed customer to provide turbines for a 128MW wind project in Chile.

The  Danish wind turbine maker will supply the V162-6.4MW variant within its EnVentus platform.

The company has also entered a ten-year AOM5000 service agreement.

The service contract is designed to optimise output by scheduling service and maintenance at times of low wind speeds. It includes an energy-based availability guarantee, incentivising performance beyond a set level.

Delivery and commissioning of the turbines are scheduled in the first quarter of 2027. The contract will be included in Vestas’ third quarter (Q3) order intake.

In late July 2025, Rezolv Energy subsidiary First Look Solutions placed a 269MW order with Vestas to provide 42 units of the V162-6.4MW turbines for the second phase of the Vifor wind farm in Buzău County, Romania.

Vestas also reached a 15-year AOM 5000 service agreement for the project. Turbine delivery for the second phase is expected in the second half of 2026 and commissioning in the second half of 2027.

The Vifor project is poised to be Romania's largest wind farm and one of the largest onshore wind farms in Europe with a total capacity of 461MW.

Vestas has installed more than 190GW of wind power capacity in 88 countries.

The company leverages smart data capabilities and has a servicing portfolio of more than 157GW of wind turbines.

In early 2025, Vestas obtained a firm order for the supply of 68 V236-15.0MW turbines to Vattenfall’s Nordlicht 1 offshore wind project, Germany.
