Texaco HDAX 9300, has INNIO Jenbacher approval granted for High BMEP Type 9 engines with steel pistons, and features modern chemistry aligned for use with catalyst systems.

Texaco HDAX 9300 SAE 40 was developed to offer extended oil drain intervals in high BMEP steel piston engines with very low oil consumption, due to enhanced oxidation resistance and base number retention.

Modern natural gas engines operate at higher engine temperatures than ever before, meaning engine oils such as Texaco HDAX 9300 have a vital role to play in helping prevent deposits on the pistons and cylinders. The product’s ash level has been formulated to help provide protection against valve recession, while reducing the formation of ash deposits in the combustion chamber which could lead to pre-ignition.

Designed to protect engines running on natural gas, operating under heavily loaded conditions, including high output 10 MWel class units, HDAX 9300 promotes wear protection, the ability to increase uptime and productivity efficiency as well as longer engine service life.  Texaco HDAX 9300 SAE 40 comes to market with a Type 9 engine approval from INNIO Jenbacher after a successful field trial.

Oil integrity is essential in operations with tight tolerances and extreme temperatures, helping to secure lower operating and maintenance costs by protecting against corrosion and oxidation and minimising TAN increases.

Paul Sly, Global Industrial OEM Specialist, at Texaco Lubricants, said, “The Industry knowledge in all aspects of Chevron’s value chain, from additive development to base oils was instrumental in achieving one of the first formal high BMEP steel piston approvals at INNIO for HDAX 9300.

“HDAX 9300 provides advanced deposit control, in the most modern high Brake Mean Effective Pressure (BMEP greater or equal to 22 bar) steel piston engines running longer and cleaner with improved reliability, alkalinity reserve and retention resulting in an increase in productivity. Use of HDAX 9300 in the latest generation of high-output engines that operate in very severe conditions with very high piston temperatures and pressures helps to maintain ring belt cleanliness and cylinder liner protection.”

The new product is supported by Texaco Lubewatch condition based monitoring programme enabling customers to track the performance of equipment, ensuring oil replacement intervals are in line with maintenance service intervals from the OEM.
