Vestas has received a 40MW order from Japan Wind Development for the Hirado Minami Wind Farm in Japan. This follows the firm’s project win with Japan Wind Development and Tokyu Land Corporation in June. Under the latest order, the firm will supply and supervise installation of 11 V105-3.6 MW turbines, delivered with customised 72.5-meter towers. Delivery of the turbines will commence in the second quarter of 2021, and commissioning is slated for the fourth quarter of the same year.

Clean energy has generated a record share of global power production since the coronavirus pandemic began, according to a Reuters review of data. The data indicates that the shift away from polluting fossil fuels could speed up in the coming years. Cited sector experts said renewable energy has become more dependable in the last three three months. Renewable power accounted for more than half of power production in some European countries, while grid operators showed they could manage larger doses of volatile energy flows.
GE Steam Power was chosen by AtomRemontServis for its first multi-year agreement in Ukraine for the Khmelnitskiy and Rivne nuclear power plants. As per the terms of the agreement, GE Steam Power will provide maintenance services for the power plants’ four generators over the next three years to help ensure reliable operations of the two locations. The Khmelnitskiy and Rivne nuclear power plants have a critical role in the Ukrainian power supply. They produce a total of 5.5GW of CO2-free power, sufficient to cater to the requirements of around six million residents.
