Indian power company NTPC has floated a tender to purchase 1GW operational solar projects to decarbonise its energy portfolio. The company will shell out approximately $669m (Rs50bn) to purchase solar projects. This decision is part of the company’s strategy to expand its renewable energy portfolio to 32GW by 2032.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has received a contract to supply 110MW capacity for the second phase of Cabo Leones III wind park in Chile. Spain’s Ibereólica Renovables issued the contract, which purchases 22 of its SG 5.0-145 wind turbines. The agreement also includes a ten-year maintenance contract.

A request for proposals (RFP) has been issued by Oman Power and Water Procurement Company to all prequalified bidders for two co-located independent power projects. The two projects – Manah Solar I and Manah Solar II – will offer an aggregate capacity of 1GW. Nine potential developers have submitted proposals so far.
