The Solar Energy Corporation of India has again extended the deadline to submit bids for 14MW of solar projects due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The deadline for the submission of bids was 30 July, but this has moved to to 30 September. The projects and a related 42MWh battery energy storage system will be developed at Leh and Kargil, Mercom India reported.
The Philippines government’s rural electrification initiatives have slowed down as the pandemic has made it difficult to conduct on-site inspections. The National Electrification Administration reduced the number of towns included in its Sitio Electrification Program for this year from 964 to 635, The Manila Times reported.
The consortium of JinkoPower and EDF Renewables has signed a 30-year power purchase agreement with Emirates Water and Electricity Company for the Al Dhafra solar power project in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The Al Dhafra Solar Photovoltaic project will boost Abu Dhabi’s total solar power generation capacity to nearly 3.2GW once operational.
Swedish multinational power company Vattenfall has announced that it is currently constructing its largest hybrid energy park in the south-west of the Netherlands. Once operational, this project will comprise of six wind turbines, 115,000 solar panels, and 12 sea containers with batteries. In a statement, the company said it has completed installation of wind turbines. It started the construction of the solar panels in June, while batteries are currently being tested off-site to be delivered in August.
