Global: Worldwide Covid-19 cases have now passed 29.2 million, with deaths exceeding 928,000 according to Johns Hopkins University tracker.
US: Coronavirus cases in the US increased 0.5% as compared with the same time Sunday to 6.54 million, according to data collected by Johns Hopkins University and Bloomberg News. The increase matched the average daily gain over the past week. Deaths rose by 0.2% to 194,339.
Only 3.5 percent of Covid-19 tests came back positive in California over the last seven days, the lowest rate since the state began reporting the data in March, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times.
India: India’s death toll crossed 80,000 on Tuesday, after 1,054 people died in 24 hours. India also reported 83,809 new coronavirus infections for its lowest daily jump in a week, the health ministry said on Tuesday. However, Covid cases now number more than 4.9 million.
Germany: Confirmed coronavirus cases in Germany rose by 1,407 to 261,762, data from the Robert Koch Institute for infectious diseases showed on Tuesday.

Australia: Victoria state, at the centre of the country’s latest coronavirus outbreak, has reported 42 new cases, compared with 35 a day earlier.
South Korea: South Korea added 106 more cases in the past 24 hours, according to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency. The number of confirmed cases was the smallest in a month, while remaining below 200 for a 13th day. Total number of confirmed cases rose to 22,391. The death toll rose by four to 367.

China: China expects a vaccine to be ready as soon as November. Wu Guizhen, head of biosafety at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said she expected Chinese vaccines for Covid-19 would soon be available to the public as soon as November or December
South Korea: South Korea will secure early supply of the novel coronavirus vaccines for 30 million people, or 60% of its population, prime minister Chung Sye-kyun told a cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

Wales: A new national lockdown could be imposed in Wales within weeks unless people follow the updated rules on social gatherings, the country’s health minister has said.
Jordan: Jordan will suspend schools for two weeks from Thursday and close places of worship, restaurants and public markets as part of renewed restrictions after a record rise in coronavirus cases in the last few days, Reuters reports.
US: A federal judge in the United States state of Pennsylvania has ruled that lockdown measures imposed in March to curb the spread of Covid-19 are “unconstitutional”.

Hong Kong: Hong Kong will launch a new round of its virus relief fund as the city’s economy continues to suffer from a recession prompted by pro-democracy protests and worsened throughout the pandemic. Fresh funding would add to nearly HK$290 billion ($37 billion) in direct Covid-19-related relief measures.
