UN Development Programme (UNDP) chief Achim Steiner has said that post-pandemic stimulus packages need to revolve around green energy, cutting the world’s dependency on oil.
The Brazilian-German diplomat said the drop in oil prices testifies the need to break free from fossil fuels.

Steiner told Climate Home News: “It’s a kind of a fork in the road for every country. You have an opportunity to either invest in returning to yesterday’s economy or to invest in tomorrow’s economy.”
