Idcon are reliability and maintenance consultants for the manufacturing industries. We educate, train, support implementation and provide consulting services for our clients in order to improve overall production reliability and lower manufacturing and maintenance costs.

While the traditional maintenance consultant approach focuses almost exclusively on equipment, our philosophy emphasizes achieving results through people. MAINTENANCE AUDIT

Idcon has defined what we call "Current Best Practices" (CBP) in reliability and maintenance management. The CBP defines best practices for reliability and maintenance management in around 300 elements. We use these elements as a benchmark when we perform a maintenance audit for your organization.

The maintenance audit CBP is used by many corporations such as Smurfit-Stone, Tembec, Fonterra, International Paper, Whirlpool, Kaiser Aluminum, BOC, Stora Enso, Hewlett Packard and many others.

MAINTENANCE PLANNING AND SCHEDULING

Maintenance planning and scheduling is one of the key work processes in reliability and maintenance management. We work with your organization to enhance both maintenance planning, and scheduling of maintenance work. Support may include classroom training, on-the-job training, and advice in approach and strategy.

PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE AND ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS

Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Preventive Maintenance (PM) are closely related work processes. Idcon can educate and train your organization in setting up and documenting the preventive maintenance process. We will also support you in training for inspection techniques and other preventive maintenance tasks. Currently, there is significant interest in our customized training in equipment components and inspection techniques for operators.

Root cause analysis for the frontline often complements the preventive maintenance approach since PM identifies problems that have to be solved. Our root cause analysis consulting and training helps your organization structure problem solving using very simple tools.

SPARE PARTS MANAGEMENT AND TECHNICAL DATA

Organizing spare parts and technical data is critical to enable efficient maintenance planning and scheduling. We offer training in management of spare parts with regards to reliability and organization and management of the spare parts storeroom.

LEADERSHIP AND ORGANIZATION

All efforts depend on strong leadership. We help maintenance leaders to develop systems procedures and documentation to establish a leadership process. In order to create leadership around any work process there have to be documented expectations, execution of the expectations and follow up through measurements (key performance indicators).
