UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY, DIESEL GENERATION AND SWITCHGEAR

UPS PACKAGE SUPPLY

EDS appointed AVK|SEG (UK) Ltd to supply them with their UPS package because of their ability to provide a system that retains its efficiency, stability and state-of-the-art technology.

Each system provided by AVK|SEG (UK) Ltd consisted of two off-protect four UPS systems. The protect range of systems provide digital state of the art UPS technology. Each system comprised five modules in a N+1 configuration for both stream A and B.

STABLE UPS OUTPUT VOLTAGE FOR SUPPLYING COMPUTER EQUIPMENT POWER

Included as standard is a high-performance digital free-pulsed inverter technology which ensures that the UPS output voltage remains stable during mains supply voltage or UPS load fluctuation, and is set for life. With less than 3% output voltage deviation during load steps from 0% - 100% - 0%, this product is ideal for supplying computer equipment power.

SHORT CIRCUIT PROOF UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SYSTEM

A short circuit proof inverter design reduces the need for protection devices. With high efficiency due to low losses, this short circuit proof uninterruptible power system has low operating costs, harmonic distortion and noise level. With its unique 12-pulse inverter technology which simulates a 24-pulse design which reduces the harmonics to less than 7.9% THD.

AVK also provide EDS with a comprehensive maintenance service cover involving specialist engineers that are available by mobile or pager. The maintenance contract provides EDS with complete system maintenance together with 24 hour 365 days a year call-out cover.

GENERATING SETS

AVK provided Barclays with a repeat mirror image of the original project (phase one) based upon four off 2,000kVA prime rated generating sets - each installed within 40ft ISO containers with attenuation to 69dBA at 1m. Roof mounted horizontal radiators, exhaust silencers, free-standing Kerys control and synchronising panels were fitted, with testing of the switchgear organised at works. All four generating sets were lifted one by one from the road side, over the fencing and strategically placed onto the base units.

GENERATOR MAINTENANCE

All four generators are covered by AVK's premium maintenance service which consists of two maintenance visits a year. The generator maintenance also provides a 24hr, seven days a week call-out facility. This cover guarantees if needed, one of our engineers to be on site within four hours of Barclays' call.
