MAN TURBO AG is a leading original equipment manufacturer of turbomachinery offering one of the world's most comprehensive product lines of compressors and turbines. These include: turbocompressors for oil and gas, centrifugal compressors for oil and gas, screw compressors, gas turbines for oil and gas, heavy duty gas turbines, gas turbines for power generation, aeroderivative gas turbines, power recovery expanders, gas turbines for mechanical drive, gas turbine generator sets, steam turbines for pulp and paper, steam turbines for power generation, industrial steam turbines and steam turbines for mechanical drives.
200 years of accumulated experience from four former OEM companies are now combined within the MAN TURBO Group to create made-to-measure solutions for customers and operators, from single machines to turnkey packages. Innovation, ongoing development and state-of-the-art technology guarantee competitive products for the entire lifetime of the machinery. Around 2,500 employees worldwide combine their skills in:
As an international company, MAN TURBO has its headquarters in Oberhausen, with three further plants in Berlin, Zurich and Schio. MAN TURBO has links to around 150 representatives worldwide and is supported by a global network of service providers.
Single source solutions are provided for the following industries and applications:
MAN TURBO's range of gas turbines comprises the THM industrial gas turbine in the 5MW to 12MW range (heavy-duty design) and the FT8 aeroderivative gas turbine in the 25MW class for industrial and municipal power supply. The FT8 TwinPac unit offers 52MW of electrical power from a two-engine single generator configuration.
Both gas turbine types are also available for mechanical drive applications, e.g. compressors and pumps. Typical applications include pipeline compressor units and gas treatment plant compressors.
Steam turbines with power ratings between 5MW and 120MW are an essential part of MAN TURBO's product portfolio. These machines are employed at industrial power generation sites or in electric utilities. Mechanical drive applications are common especially in the process industry where steam turbines drive large compressors.
The chemical and petrochemical industry utilise process-gas turboexpanders of radial- and axial- flow design for generator or compressor drive applications. Turbomachinery trains for a terephthalic acid plant, for example, consist of an integrally geared compressor, a steam turbine and a radial-flow expander recovering energy from waste gas. Expanders are also used for fluidised catalytic cracking (FCC), nitric acid plants and for blast furnace gas (top gas) applications.
MAN TURBO designs and manufactures fuel-gas compressor packages which operate in combined cycle power plants worldwide. These machines compress fuel-gas from the pipeline supply pressure to the required fuel-gas pressure of the gas turbine combustion system. Plant and control engineering as well as comprehensive commissioning services are included in the scope of supply. Operational flexibility over the complete load range of the power plant is provided as well as power saving potential when pipeline pressures are high.
MAN TURBO is a single source supplier of generator sets, compressor packages and complete turbomachinery trains to the oil and gas industry. The machinery is delivered to the most remote regions of the world, including long-distance pipelines, offshore production platforms and FPSOs (floating production, storage and offloading facilities).
