OIC Valve Covers manufactures high-quality thermal covers designed to protect and insulate all types of valves, flanges, pipes, heat exchangers, actuators, exhausts and generator sets. In fact, we can manufacture practically any power industry product that provides heat conservation. Our products are user-friendly and can be easily installed by you or by our fitters.

Custom thermal valve covers

Often valves, pipes, flanges and other equipment are left un-insulated due to their elaborate shapes. If required, our expert advisors can visit you to measure your valves and custom-design a cover specifically for your needs, no matter how unusual the shape of your valves.

Removable thermal covers for valves

We produce removable thermal covers using a variety of cloths and insulation fillings for production up to 1,000°C. Standard valve covers are manufactured using Kevlar sewing thread, or for high-temperature work we use stainless-steel twine.

Our covers are easily removed and replaced for maintenance purposes. Closures include Velcro and drawstrings. D-rings and straps or hook and wire can be used as an alternative.

Most of the sheet metal used in our workshop is manufactured from coils of either 1,000mm or 1,250mm in width.

Our jackets can be fitted with a brass eyelet at the lowest point to allow the escape of water ingress. This is also a useful way to identify tell-tale signs of leaking fluids from valves, etc.

If you save energy you will save yourself money. We can calculate your energy savings (costs) if you furnish us with the following information:

  • Valve size
  • The valve’s running temperature
  • Cost of your energy (pence per kWh)
  • Hours per day the plant runs
  • Days per year the plant runs

This will then give you a payback time plus year-on-year energy savings.

Alternatively we can survey your plant and take heat readings with our thermal ray gun and perform heat-loss calculations for you.

Burn-protection valve covers

Another important reason to install our valve covers is to protect the public and your employees from burns.

Sheet metal cladding

Most of the sheet metal used in our workshop is manufactured from coils of either 1,000mm or 1,250mm in width, enabling us to cut any length of metal from our cut-to-length line. We can manufacture from a range of metals including:

  • Stucco aluminium
  • Plain aluminium
  • Plastisol in various colours
  • Aluzinc plain
  • Aluzinc stucco
  • Aluzinc petrochem
  • Stainless steel of various grades
  • Galvanised steel

We also have a 3m hydraulic guillotine, enabling us to shear up to 6mm steel and 4mm stainless steel. We can fold sheets up to 3m long. To cut complicated shapes, bends, valve boxes, etc. for manufacturing we use a CNC plasma cutter. This gives us a wide variety of parts to choose from, including rectangular, oval and circular-shaped products. The plasma cutter is accurate to 0.1mm.

We manufacture pipework, ducting (round, rectangular and oval), valve and flange boxes, and all types of vessels and tanks.
