The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 116 tenders and an 84.7% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: 14 tenders and a 10.2% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: seven tenders and a 5.1% share.

Asia-Pacific leads power plant activity in August 2020

Comparing tenders activity in power plant segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 77 tenders and a share of 56.2% during August 2020, followed by Europe with 27 tenders and a 19.7% share and Middle East and Africa with 15 tenders and a 10.9% share.

Solar is leading technology for power plant tenders in August 2020

Among the technologies, solar accounted for 113 tenders with a 79.6% share, followed by hydro with 11 tenders and a 7.7% share and thermal with eight tenders and a 5.6% share.

Power plant tenders in August 2020: Top issuers by capacity

The top issuers of power plant tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:

  1. Ministry of Climate (Poland): 3,200MW from one tender
  2. Department of Mineral Resources and Energy: 2,000MW from one tender
  3. NTPC (India): 1,070.13MW capacity from two tenders.
