There were 63 T&D project tenders announced in the Asia-Pacific region in January 2021, marking a drop of 63% over the last 12-month average of 172, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

T&D Project stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in January 2021 with 63 tenders and a 31.8% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 59 tenders and a 29.8% share and Power Plant with 39 tenders and a 19.7% share during the month.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

1. Project Implementation: 33 tenders and a 52.4% share
2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 28 tenders and a 44.4% share
3. Consulting & Similar Services: two tenders and a 3.2% share.

Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific T&D project tenders in January 2021

Looking at T&D project tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for four tenders with an 80% share, followed by hydro with one tender and a 20% share.

The top issuer of T&D project tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific was:Namkha Rural Municipality with 0.1MW from one tender.
