Vung Ang Coal Fired Power Plant I is a 1,200MW coal fired power project. It is located in Ha Tinh, Vietnam. The project is currently active. It has been developed in multiple phases. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in December 2014.

Description

The project was developed by Lilama and is currently owned by PetroVietnam Power.

It is a steam turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is anthracite. In case of shortage of anthracite the plant can also run on Oil. The fuel is procured from The Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group.

The project generated 8,000,000MWh of electricity. The project cost is $1,400m.

Contractors Involved

Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute and Lilama were selected to render EPC services for the coal fired power project.

The Coal fired project have been supplied by Sojitz and Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions.

The electric generators for the project were procured from Sojitz and Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions.

Babcock & Wilcox Beijing supplied steam boiler for the project.
