Opcon Bioenergy has secured a Skr17m ($2.48m) order for machinery for the expansion of Skara Energi’s bioenergy plant in Sweden.
The 8MW Uddetorp plant will be equipped with Opcon’s flue gas condensation solution at around 2MW.
The purpose of the flue gas is to provide improved energy efficiency of up to 25% by recycling large amounts of the waste heat normally emitted through the chimney.
Upon completion, the plant’s bioenergy capacity will double the 45GW produced from 55,000m3 of wood chips in 2010.
Delivery of the machinery is scheduled for 2012.
