DEME has secured a substantial contract to manage the transport and installation of foundations for the first phase of the Zeevonk offshore wind project in the Netherlands.

The Zeevonk project is located in the Dutch North Sea 63–84km off the coast near Bergen aan Zee. It is expected to provide around 1GW of installed capacity.
The development is jointly owned by Vattenfall and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners via its Energy Investment Fund I.
Under the agreement, DEME will handle the intermediate transport of monopiles and provide marshalling services for both primary and secondary steel.
The company will also be responsible for transporting and installing 69 monopile foundations, as well as installing a filter layer for scour protection.
Several vessels from DEME’s fleet will be used for the project, with floating offshore transport and installation vessel the Orion scheduled for monopile installation.
Additional support will come from a jack-up offshore transport and installation vessel for the handling of secondary steel, and a fallpipe rock transport and installation vessel for scour protection.

Construction at sea is due to commence in 2028, although the final go-ahead for the project is subject to a final investment decision.
Since 2000, DEME has accumulated extensive experience in installing foundations and offshore infrastructure for a range of offshore wind projects worldwide.
In May 2026, the company, via its Tokyo-based joint venture Japan Offshore Marine, secured a contract to provide engineering services and charter vessels for the installation of 21 wind turbines at Japan’s Oga-Katagami-Akita offshore wind project.
