Vogt Power to Supply HRSGs for Thailand Refinery

Vogt Power International, a subsidiary of Babcock Power, has announced that it has been selected to supply Jurong Engineering (JEL) with six heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) for the IRPC Public Company’s (IRPC) combined heat and power (CHP) plant located in Rayong, Thailand.

IRPC is a petroleum refinery and petrochemical manufacturer belonging to the PTT group.

Vogt Power will design, manufacture and deliver six unfired one pressure level HRSGs to JEL. Vogt Power’s HRSGs will be installed behind General Electric’s Frame 6 gas turbines. The electricity and steam generated by the CHP plant will be utilised at IRPC’s petrochemical complex. The CHP plant is expected to provide 220MW of generation capacity and 400 tons per hour of steam for the complex and is scheduled for completion in May 2011.

“Securing this award exemplifies Vogt Power’s flexibility and competitiveness in the international and industrial market for smaller HRSGs,” says Steve Kapsalis, president and CEO of Vogt Power. “We are pleased to be working with a world-class international engineering and construction company like Jurong Engineering on this project.”

JEL, based in Singapore, is a leading international engineering and construction company that has gained recognition as a key player in the construction of power, petrochemical and other industrial process plants. It also undertakes turnkey contracts for small to medium-size combined cycle power plants. For the past 38 years, the company has executed projects in 25 countries in South East Asia, China, the Indian subcontinent, the Middle East, Africa and the southern Caribbean.
