Speedy, a leading provider of equipment and support services to the construction, manufacturing and rail industries, has agreed a major deal with ArcGen Hilta. The award-winning welding equipment manufactured by ArcGen Hilta will be supplied to Speedy for use in the petrochemical sector.

On-site equipment provider ArcGen Hilta has been selected to deliver 100 300AVC welders to Speedy to help it respond to growing demand. The environmentally-friendly 300AVC welder won the Green Award at the Executive Hire Show two years ago and has become for many the welder of choice for the petrochemical sector welder.

ArcGen Hilta chief executive Mark Hodgkins said: “The 300 AVC and its predecessor have developed a very powerful reputation in the petrochemical industry. Its build characteristics make it ideal to cope with the harsh conditions that are encountered at a large number of units offshore.

This robust quality also serves the customer well at onshore sites at the various refineries around the UK. It is a significant order and we are delighted to be working with Speedy, who are making a big commitment to this sector.”

Andy Connor, supply chain director at Speedy, said: “The ArcGen welder has a deserved reputation for its quality and we have taken this opportunity to enhance our fleet in the Industrial sector which we have been concentrating on with great success. The reliability of the ArcGen welder will assist our customers in achieving their quality aspirations and sustainability goals which we share. Our partnership with ArcGen has been growing for some time and this latest collaboration is the culmination of months of development work.”

The deal with Speedy was finalised at the latest Executive Hire Show, which Mark hailed as an important event for furthering such partnership arrangements.
